A real, raw, topic that I can write about. Adulthood
But not "How to Be an Adult," but more so... "Steps on becoming an Adult."
I am a whole whopping 18 years old- just a wee 2 and a half months until I am 19, so I guess it's safe to say that I have completed almost an entire year of this whole "adult" thing.. right?
I have successfully moved out of my parents and childhood home, had two odd living situations, a "not so serious" but close to serious relationship (whatever that means..) but most impressively, I moved OUT OF MY STATE! All by myself, a whole 1,095 miles away from my Portland, Oregon home- all the way to the sunny city of San Diego, California!
With all of these new experiences I have created this beloved iPhone list to keep myself inspired daily and my only hope is that by sharing it with the world I can at least inspire one of you and help you on your own journey to "adulting."

Becoming a Better "Adult"
Make lists
Complete your lists!!
Water your plants
Learn how much water your plants need and don't over or under water them...
Make time for yourself
Be your best hype man!! Holy shit no matter what you're doing-whether it be taking out the trash, organizing your desk, or finally painting your nails- give yourself props and major credit for it, simply because you are amazing, and no one else will!
It will also make you feel so much better about that task and domino into you doing it more often
Do your laundry
No, Febreeze will not actually cover up any smells...
Never rent an apartment that does not have an IN unit washer and dryer..
You will never not be too lazy to walk all the way across a complex, up and down two flights of stairs MuLtIpLe times a day, multiple times a week.
Try not to be so lazy though..
Wash your face every night
READ A BOOK
Remember how I constantly nag about finding things to inspire you, here is an amazing book that ROCKS my whole soul and I just feel like a new person after I take the time to sit down and read it
Invest in a good fan for your room!
Avoid hooking up with anyone at work..
Always budget your money (I'm a huge fan of the Mint app)
There is no need for all 12 million of your stash jars....
Buy one of those weekly pill containers so that you ACTUALLY take all of your vitamins
Drink more water- you will thank yourself
Exfoliate your legs and don't forget about those feet
Do not ignore your bills..
Get good at shopping for cheap clothes- goodwill, actual thrift stores, or online resale apps like Vinted
Stop browsing craigslist for kittens when youre bored... it will only make the "kitten fever" worse
Weekly cleaning: take two hours out of your day, once a week to clean your room, bathroom, kitchen, etc.
Make your bed every morning- it makes everything at least feel a lot more put together, and then one thing will always be orderly
Make amazing sandwiches- the possibilities are endless
Moving will make you crazy- just breathe, soon it will all be over
Clean up every spill right after they happen- it's so much easier than cleaning up a crusty mess
Throw away your old Starbucks drinks...now, not in a week!
Call your grandmother, and of course your mom and dad
Family is important, no matter how independent you become or how old you get, they still want to hear from you.
Take care of your hair and skin!!!
If you want your hair to grow/be healthy- actually take care of it, hair masks!! Oils with Triglycerides to actually penetrate!! (Blog post on this soon!)
And most importantly- take time for yourself to do something you enjoy. Pick something from this list and do it, go to the beach, get a mani/pedi, whatever it is that will make YOU happy, DO IT.
I hope you all enjoyed my little list and took a piece of inspiration from it! Letting everything- big or small- inspire you, is just one little step to becoming a better you!
XOXO
