LOOK GOOD, FEEL GOOD
Something I've recently learned to do, is to not take things personally—because by taking things personally, you only set yourself up to suffer for nothing.
I love to tell people that my favorite book is the Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. Truthfully, I haven't read a book in years, and I'm only about 4 chapters in... BUT, everything I have read so far has been so truly inspiring and has provided me with so many lifestyle changing tips- so, I think I'm allowed to title it my favorite.
I had a situation happen with myself recently that really put me in a critical juncture. I finally "adulted" just a smidge more- since this new journey on my own has begun.
This post idea sprung to my mind in the midst of a pointless and shameful thought about a nice ladies HAIR. Yeah... her fucking(again, sorry grandma and any potential boss for my poor vocabulary choice) hair... A thought which I instantly scolded myself for, because I am not one to judge anybody on their physical appearance. Or anything really for that matter. Anyways, I couldn't understand why this person's hair even bothered me so much.
Then the sparks flew- I was feeling like shit about my own self earlier that day. It wasn't because I just didn't like the fabulous girl's hair, there was nothing even wrong with it. I simply felt like shit that day and so in return I was LITERALLY judging someone for no reason, all because of my own poor views on myself.
Who are we to criticize whose opinions are valid and whose aren't?
Do not expect people to tell you the truth, because they even lie to themselves.
It is a harsh world, but once you realize that you are in it for yourself- you will start to thrive and become a better you. Refer to my blog about "Adulting 101" if you're in an inspiration slump or you just need some tips on how to be a better little human bean.
I come on here from the (sometimes dark) pits of my heart and write my thoughts and experiences. Not only for myself to reflect on, but so that maybe another one of you little beans like myself can carry a bit of inspiration and knowledge to help you throughout your daily lives. The next time you start to judge someone- because it happens and sadly we all do it sometimes- you will be able to stop and reflect on your own feelings.
Much much love,
